HOW ODD TO SAY
DANCING IS ODD
COLECTIVO VACABURRA
Espectáculo de danza contemporánea | 55 min.

Vacaburra is the result of the collision of two artists, a cow -vaca- and a donkey -burra-: la Variopinta Andrea Quintana and Mullerona Gena Baamonde, who unite their concerns and trajectories in a common project. Dancing is dangerous, it threatens the system, it complicates the situation. Dance makes the hegemonic ways of being uncomfortable, affects, dislocates and complicates. Dance, contagious and invasive, destabilizes the logics of the word, threatens the normative language. Dancing can be an epidemic. This dancer has no magic tricks ready. Her choreographic material is coarse and sometimes incomprehensible, she fails in the turns with the left leg. This dancer never wanted to be Giselle. With all of us: a body in rebellion, crossed, revolted, the non-normative dancer, the fakir dancer, the thaumaturge, the subaltern. Ways of being that complicate. Active invisibility strategies or dissident identities. Life crossed. Bastard fiction. Ability to imagine. Difficult wandering with an appearance of depth. This is an autobiographical fish without a biography, a trap for the eye, a tangled choreography, a narrative deception: pirate choreo-biography. This is about dancing dancing.
